Well Being Support Advocate (Full time, 37 hours per week)

Salary £21,745 – £23,166

Contract initially to March 2020

BSARCS requires an experienced and enthusiastic woman to provide a high quality advocacy and support service for clients who have experienced sexual abuse or rape.  You will enable clients to gain greater control over their lives and help to improve their sense of wellbeing.  Within safeguarding guidelines you will advocate in the best interest of the client.

Experience of direct work with vulnerable adults is essential.  Experience of counselling, advocacy, social work, support work or a similar field is desirable.

BSARCS’ offices are located in Barnsley town centre, less than five minutes away from the transport interchange.  We are a forward thinking, dynamic and supportive employer offering benefits including 5 weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays and pension contributions.

Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA)

Salary £25,440 – £27,123

Fixed term initially to March 2020

37 hours per week.  (30 hours per week may be considered pro-rata)

BSARCS is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic woman to work within a small team of ISVAs based in Barnsley.  The post holder will deliver a high quality service that ensures prompt, safe and effective support for adults who have experienced sexual violence and are accessing the criminal justice system.  This post will involve substantial amounts of liaison with statutory authorities including the police, courts and social care.

 You should have substantial experience of direct work with adults including advocacy and safeguarding as well as knowledge of the legal justice system.  A recognised qualification in ISVA support/social work or similar is desirable.
