“Sexual abuse imagery of children aged 11-13 is most prevalent (IWF2021)”
As the above statistic demonstrates:
Online Sexual Abuse is a growing threat to Children and Young people’s safety and wellbeing. Increasing numbers of Children and Young people have access to devices at younger and younger ages. Perpetrators of sexual harm exploit adult ignorance about online harm and how perpetration in the online world occurs.
Professionals working with Children and Young people need to be aware of how to support them to prevent online harm and should learn about best practice to support a child or Young Person who has been harmed online.
This course will look at the current landscape, explore ways to support Children and their parents to safeguard against online harm, look at how perpetrators operate in the online world and address the most supportive ways to look after a child who has experienced sexual harm.
