This course is aimed at Barnsley professionals, this course outlines concepts of vicarious secondary trauma and burnout. It looks at the impact and discusses strategies to manage and prevent burnout. This course is suitable for anyone working professionally with clients who have or continue to experience trauma.
Aims of the session:
- Understand how working with trauma can impact your practice and your motivation in your role
- Define secondary trauma and the best way to manage it
- Link your understanding of Secondary Trauma to your own practice
- Appreciate the importance of self-care in alleviating the impact of Secondary Trauma

When will there be a cost for training?
Please note Barnsley Council has covered the cost for several training courses that we offer, therefore if you register for our training and are from outside the Barnsley area we will contact you to discuss the training cost.
£25 per person for half day and £50 per person for a full day training session.
Your agency might support you with the costs of training courses like ours. Many agencies have a training budget, and our courses are widely recognised as valuable professional development.
If you are self-employed this course will be chargeable at the above rates.
