This course will outline the characteristics of C.S.A, discuss prevalence, responses to the child and non-abusing parent/carer. Significance of professional curiosity in identifying abuse may be present and how to work with disclosure.
Aims:
- Understand the prevalence of CSA and consider the nature and context
- Recognise the impact of CSA across a range of outcomes.
- Appreciate the significance of professional curiosity to support identification of C .S.A.
- Develop an understanding of how to respond to a child/family where C.S.A has occurred.

When will there be a cost for training?
Please note Barnsley Council has covered the cost for several training courses that we offer, therefore if you register for our training and are from outside the Barnsley area we will contact you to discuss the training cost.
£25 per person for half day and £50 per person for a full day training session.
Your agency might support you with the costs of training courses like ours. Many agencies have a training budget, and our courses are widely recognised as valuable professional development.
If you are self-employed this course will be chargeable at the above rates.
