This course is aimed at Barnsley professionals who work with children and young people. BSARCS are utilising information from the Centre for Expertise in Child Sexual Abuse to support improved responses to signs that sexual harm may be occurring in a Child’s life.
Individuals working with Children may hear disclosures of sexual harm or having completed the training feel more able to ask open and curious questions about what might be happening to a child this may lead to disclosure of either prior child sexual abuse or more recent rape and sexual assault.
This course will provide you with a framework for supporting children who disclose. The course includes examples of best practice, information about your role and responsibility in safeguarding. Best practice in supporting a child who discloses and how to refer onwards. Having completed the training you will be more equipped to manage these challenging situations with confidence and insight.
